Card payments leave out buyers who cannot or would rather not pay by card, and they expose digital sellers to chargebacks after the product is delivered. Accepting crypto fixes both for the right audience. The short version is on ZappSell crypto payments; the step-by-step is below.
Why accept crypto for digital products?
No chargebacks
With cards, a buyer can dispute a payment after receiving a license key or an access link, and the seller often loses both the money and the product. A confirmed crypto payment cannot be reversed by a bank or card network. Refunds still happen, but they are the seller's decision. See chargeback-free payments.
Buyers anywhere with a wallet
Card checkout depends on the buyer's bank and country. Anyone with a crypto wallet can pay, which matters when your audience is international or already holds crypto.
Buyers keep their card details private
Some buyers would rather not type card details into a small store. Paying from a wallet avoids that.
Which coins should you promote?
You do not have to choose: buyers pick from the full list at checkout. What you promote should match your audience:
- USDT and USDC: dollar stablecoins, so the amount does not swing between cart and payment. A safe default to mention first.
- Bitcoin (BTC): the most widely held coin, familiar to almost every crypto buyer.
- Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL): common with buyers who use crypto apps day to day.
- Litecoin (LTC) and others: useful for buyers who already hold them.
Choosing a coin and a network
Some coins exist on more than one blockchain. USDT on TRON is not the same as USDT on Ethereum (ERC-20). At checkout the buyer picks the coin and, where there is a choice, the network, and must send on exactly that network. Each coin and network also has a minimum order total, so very small orders see fewer options.
Our coin guides list the networks and minimums for the most-used coins: Bitcoin, USDT, USDC, Ethereum, Solana and Litecoin.
How crypto checkout works on ZappSell
For the buyer:
- They add a product to the cart on your store. No ZappSell account is needed.
- At checkout they choose a coin (and network, where there is a choice) and see the exact amount for your USD price.
- They send that amount from any wallet to the payment address shown. Checkout is processed by NOWPayments.
- Once the payment is confirmed on the blockchain (timing depends on the coin and network), the order is marked paid and the key, code or link is emailed automatically.
Setting it up
- Create a free ZappSell account at zappsell.com/signup.

Common questions
What if crypto prices move?
You price in USD. The crypto amount is calculated at checkout, and your sale is credited to your ZappSell balance in USD terms. If your buyers worry about price swings, point them to USDT or USDC.
Do I need to understand blockchains?
No. You set USD prices and add a wallet address for payouts. Checkout, payment confirmation and delivery are handled for you.
Is accepting crypto legal where I live?
Rules differ by country, including how crypto income is taxed. Check the rules that apply to you; as a seller you are responsible for your own tax reporting.
Can buyers pay by card?
No. ZappSell checkout is crypto-only. If most of your buyers only pay by card, choose a card-based platform or run both side by side.
